From next year, the patent processing period will be shortened from 18 months to 10 months.  In addition, the prior registration system of the utility model will be nullified and instead, a registration system after examination is applied.  KIPO announced that a revised bill of the Utility Model Law and the Patent Law proposed by the government including those contents would be submitted to the Parliament and be processed during the plenary session this year.<
