It is confirmed that Pioneer Corp. of Japan lodged a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics Corp. and Samsung SDI.
In connection with this suit, Samsung SDI has a plan to lodge a counter-suit, and thus it is expected that severe legal battles will be waged between PDP enterprises of Korea and Japan.According to Samsung SDI, Pioneer submitted a request for damage compensation and inhibition of use of their technology to the Texas Federal Court of the U.S. while insisting that Samsung SDI infringed upon their own electrode technology and other patent rights.In addition, Pioneer requested that Samsung SDI submit the judgment that Samsung does not infringe on the Patent rights of Pioneer with respect to three Samsung SDI technology such as the technology related to the electrode properties introduced by Samsung SDI during the patent consultation.
