Before Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of the USA, he acquired a patent related to a floating room which is necessary for a freight vessel to pass through a shallow stream. He pinpointed the gist of a patent system as follows. "The patent system adds the fuel of interest to the fire of Genius." At that time, this famous phrase won the sympathy of the citizens, and is now engraved in the front gate of the US Patent Trade Office.

- In the field of the intellectual property right, he accumulated various kinds of experience and he has contributed to internationalization of patent management by increasing the number of patents from 20 to 10,000 per year when he worked for LG Electronics. |

- Dr. Shinn has enhanced the image of the associations remarkably while working as the president of KPAA as well as a president of a Korea Licensing Association. |
|
- Dr. Shinn has contributed to foundation of the Patent Court while working as the Director and Vice President of Korea Patent Attorney Association, and has been making utmost efforts in improving a patent litigation system in Korea until now. |

The object of LES is to encourage specialized standards of a high degree about a technology transfer and licensing, to improve licensing technology, to educate licensing affairs, and to provide information about licensing.
LES Korea is one of 30 societies of the international LESI which was established in 1965, secures 11,000 memberships all over the world, and consists of 30 national and regional societies.
Since its foundation, LES Korea hold numerous seminars, international conferences and symposiums related to technology transfer and licensing for 30 years and has been publishing diverse publications.
As the president of LES Korea, Dr. Shinn contributed to opening of the LESI conference where 800 foreign members attended in 2006 April. |

- Satisfy a customer's needs.
Dr. Shinn has won fame because he provides the most reliable services to the inventers by using the accumulated company experience.
Actually, Dr. Shinn has made great effort in understanding the needs and the levels of the inventors aggressively for last 30 years.
The Shinn Kwan Ho Patent and Law office which was opened on February 18, 1986 consists of a staff of 20 and are doing their best to satisfy the needs of the customers by describing the specifications and drawings and other documents clearly, accurately and effectively.
The Office specializes in processing the applications of foreigners in Korea, various kinds of trial and infringement cases of the patent rights.
Dr. Shinn's office is unchallenged in the fields of electronics, electricity, machinery, biotechnology, computer programming, pharmaceutical products and chemistry; protection of patent, design, and trademark rights; copyrights and the international technology contracts. As for the copyrights, the office is registered as an entrusting office, pouring much effort in the international management. Dr. Shinn emphasized that the best way to narrow the technological gap is to try the patent applications thoroughly while saying that the differences between Korea and Japan are great. For this purpose, he stressed that each company must design a PM(Patent Map), and then make their utmost effort in licensing or developing their technology. Dr. Shinn has been doing research and developing continuously in order to acquire developed legal knowledge, and making efforts for a system development while he was working as the president of the Patent Attorney Association. |
